Ivy

Hedera helix

Toxic to pets
Ivy
Light
bright indirect. In a dim spot the growth goes thin and stringy and it becomes a magnet for spider mites
Water
keep lightly moist and give it cool, moving air. Ivy struggles more with hot dry rooms than with watering mistakes
Toxicity
toxic to dogs, cats and horses (ASPCA): triterpenoid saponins (hederagenin) cause vomiting, abdominal pain, drooling and diarrhea, and the foliage is more toxic than the berries. Also poisonous to people (NC State Extension, medium severity); the sap causes severe skin irritation

Toxicity confirmed against ASPCA Animal Poison Control; NC State Extension Plant Toolbox.
