One long table under the trees, and an evening that had to work twice: once in the low gold light before sunset, and again after dark.
That is really the whole brief. Sunflowers and dried grasses do the work while there is still daylight: warm, loose, unfussy, and tall enough to read down the length of the table. Then as the light goes, the arrangement hands over to the lanterns, the jar candles and the string lights, and the flowers become silhouettes.
Table settings and porch containers are not as different as they sound. Both are about scale, repetition, and knowing which element is meant to carry the eye at any given moment.
This is the only event we have styled so far. We would happily take on more. Tell us what you have in mind.
